ACCOMPLISHMENTS, SPECIAL PROJECTS, EVENTS & CONSTITUENT SERVICES
- Emergency Management: Addressed Municipal Courts’ failure to alert or notify citizens
properly during declared weather emergency.
- Opposed moving forward on a Justice Center Proposal, as bidding was done without City
Council approval or knowledge.
- Addressed Transportation Network Concerns (Vehicles for Hire) as Uber and Lyft began
operating unlawfully in the city.
- Potholes and road conditions. (Ongoing Potholes and general condition of city streets)
- Homeless issues (Participated in Counting the Homeless out in the Communities)
- Opposed City taking part in Public Private Partnerships, which were introduced so
governments could be seen to be reducing government debt by passing off expenditure
as private debt.
- Developed a plan for removing hundreds of vehicles submerged in the city’s bayous;
forging an agreement between the city and county for a pilot removal project.
- Called for changes to Emergency Management protocol after City Hall Annex was
extensively damaged when flood gates were left open.
- Challenged Mayor’s stated “new policy” that all citizen petitions first be reviewed by the
City Attorney for “accuracy and relevance” – a violation of the constitutional right of
Houston voters.
- Opposed flawed HERO Ordinance.
- Monitored the completion, independent testing, and successful implementation of the
Municipal Courts CSMART Program, a $43 Million Computer Program which had stalled
in development.
